Josh’s journey into financial planning began with his roots in rural America. From working alongside his grandfather on the family farm in Iowa to serving agricultural businesses as a commercial lender in Wyoming, he saw firsthand the financial challenges facing rural families and business owners.
In 2019, Josh founded JH Pierce Wealth Management with a mission to bring comprehensive financial planning and coordinated wealth management strategies to underserved rural communities.
Today, the firm serves clients across rural America through an integrated approach to personal financial planning, business growth and exit planning, and employee benefits. This service model is uniquely designed to address the needs of rural business owners and close gaps in what services they can access.

The 2026 InvestmentNews.com Rising Star Award was presented by InvestmentNews.com on October 28, 2026. Nominees had to be aged 40 or under (as of October 1, 2026) and be committed to a career in wealth management, with a clear passion for the industry. Nominees were asked about their current role, key achievements, and career goals, as well as the contributions they’ve made to shaping the industry. Recommendations from managers and senior industry professionals were also taken into account. The Rising Stars were selected with guidance from an independent panel of industry leaders.
